Chiropractic Services
-
A natural, non-invasive approach to health care. Chiropractic is based on the scientific fact that your body is a self-regulating, self-healing organism, controlled by the brain, spinal cord and nerves in the body. The vertebrae, which protect the nervous system, when misaligned or lose its normal motion, causes malfunction of the tissues and organs throughout the body. The role of a wellness chiropractor is to support innate intelligence and remove interferences in the spine and other joints in the body, allowing the body to self-regulate and self-heal. The goal of wellness intervention is always to restore homeostasis, or balance to the body, not to relive symptoms or treat disease. When interferences to the nervous system are removed, homeostasis occurs. Human beings are innately designed to be in balance. I am well equipped to treat people of any age, including geriatric and pediatric patients. I will use a wide variety of techniques in my practice to best suit the patient, some of these include; Diversified, Thompson, Activator, SOT, Flexion/Distraction, and more.
RockTape (Kinesiology Taping)
-
RockTape is a revolutionary new therapeutic tape product designed to treat a variety of common sports injuries, ranging from rotator cuff issues, low back issues, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, shin splints, knee problems and much more. The secret behind RockTape, is that when they manufacture the tape they introduce a biosyn to the weave of the tape so that it stretches in one direction and not the other. Unlike conventional taping, which prevents movement-- RockTape allows full movement of a taped area. When we take RockTape and place it in the skin, you can see convolutions that are created. This is the tapes ability to lift the skin away from the soft tissue and promote blood flow. The more blood you get into a damage area, the faster it heals and recovers. RockTape ultimately runs an interference on pain. When signals arriving to the brain are altered, it does not produce the sensation of pain, thus providing almost immediate pain relief. Additionally, we can also drain out lymphatic fluid and reduce almost all of the swelling associated with an injury overnight. We like to call RockTape, duct tape for the human body because it's so versatile. You can use to compress or decompress an area, push or pull tendons to muscles to places where they should or shouldn't be, you can even use to it activate or deactivate a muscle. Research has shown that RockTape delays muscle fatigue and normalizes muscle tone. RockTape is a non-latex based product that is completely safe to wear for up to five days. It is also waterproof so you can shower or even swim with it on. It comes in a variety of different styles and colors and can even be promoted to enhance athletic performance.
Therapeutic Ultrasound
-
Therapeutic ultrasound is a treatment modality that utilizes high or low frequency sound waves. These sound waves are transmitted to the adjacent tissue and vasculature. They penetrate the muscles to cause deep tissue/muscle warming. This stimulates relaxation of the tissue and therefore is useful in treating muscle tightness and spasms. The warming effect of the sound waves also cause vessel vasodilation and increases blood circulation to the area that assists in healing. The frequency on the machine to use waves that will decrease inflammation.
Cold Laser Therapy

-
Cold laser therapy is a low level laser that provides symptomatic relief of chronic, intractable pain, and is indicated for adjunctive treatment of post-surgical and post-traumatic acute pain, and for adjunctive use in providing relief of pain from musculoskeletal origin. Cold laser is a treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light to interact with damaged tissues. Cold laser aids in the increase of ATP production as well as protein synthesis at the cellular level to facilitate tissue repair and accelerate the healing process.
Interferential Electrotherapy
-
Electrical stimulation uses an electoral current to cause a single muscle or group of muscles to contract by placing electrodes on the skin. The result of the electrical impulses are: decreased muscle tightness, pain and swelling, and at the same time causing an increase in the capacity of the injured tissue to heal by increasing blood flow. The current can be altered allowing this modality to activate muscle so as to strengthen the targeted tissue.
Spinal Rehabilitation
-
Spinal rehabilitation goes hand-in-hand with chiropractic treatment. Many studies have reported the importance of incorporating rehabilitation exercises in managing acute and chronic pain. Rehabilitation exercises can improve all joint, muscle, neck and back problems and is essential in the recovery from personal or sports injuries. There is new evidence to suggest that even a seemingly small injury may take up to a year to fully heal. Any kind of trauma or injury will inhibit key muscles from working so it is essential to retrain muscles after an injury. Rehabilitation exercises are tailored to a patients particular needs and specific to that patients injury.
